The project
LA Lumen Project is a nonprofit chamber music organization based in Los Angeles. We are performers, teachers, students and neighbors who believe a concert should be within reach of anyone who wants to hear one, and that the room matters as much as the repertoire.
Our programs are presented in churches, schools and community rooms across the region, planned so the music arrives where people already gather. Admission stays free or low cost wherever we can manage it, and every concert ends with an open invitation to meet the musicians.

Our story
It began with a room and a handful of players.
The project was founded by musicians working in and around Los Angeles who wanted to play for audiences outside the usual concert circuit. The idea was simple: gather excellent players, choose music that welcomes a new listener as readily as a lifelong one, and perform it in a room the community already calls its own. Our inaugural programme brings five brass players together for exactly that purpose.

Our vision
Classical music that belongs to the whole city.
We want a Los Angeles where a family in any neighborhood can hear live chamber music close to home, and where a young musician can see a place for themselves on that stage. Each concert should feel as though it was made for the room it is played in, and for the people who filled it.
